About Sandra Rivers

Pianist Sandra Rivers enjoys a reputation today as one of the foremost performing artists of her generation. She has concertized throughout the world and has appeared at the Mostly Mozart Festival at  Lincoln Center, Tanglewood, Aspen, the Schleswig-Holstein Festival, the Kennedy Center and on the Great Performers Series at Lincoln Center.

In addition to her solo career, Ms. Rivers has become widely known for her concert partnerships with many of the world’s leading soloists including Itzhak Perlman, Kathleen Battle, Gil Shaham, Joshua Bell, Anne Akiko Meyers, Sarah Chang and Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg, among others.

This season Ms. Rivers was the featured pianist for the launch of Steinway Spirio, the high resolution player piano, in Cincinnati, Ohio and in Florence, Kentucky. She gave a piano masterclass and adjudicated three competitions at the University of Alaska in Fairbanks. She was a guest artist with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra Chamber Players. She played three concerts at the Phoenix Chamber Music Society Winter Festival, stepping in for Andre Watts for two of them.

This summer she will be on the faculty of the Cincinnati Young Artists Chamber Music Festival.

She has recordings on the following labels: Teldec, RCA Victor Red Seal, EMI/Angel, Pony Canyon, CBS Masterworks, Musical Heritage and Zafiro (Spain).

Ms. Rivers is currently on the keyboard faculty of the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. She is the artistic coordinator for the CCM/Steinway Recital Series which takes place at Steinway Hall in New York City. She is a Steinway Artist.
